1. INTRODUCTION
This website provides information on the project Sustainable Energy Education Districts for Informal Settlements, SEED (project no. 01DG21015A), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research and Education, for the general public.
This website provides information on the objectives of the project and also provides background information on the project and the partners involved, as well as information on the progress of the initiative.

The project lead is Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wilfried Zörner from the THI.

2. ENQUIRIES BY MAIL, FAX OR TELEPHONE

2.1 Purpose of processing
If you contact us by e-mail, fax or telephone, we store and process personal data for the purpose of processing your enquiry.

2.2. Legal basis
The legal basis for this data processing is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1a) DSGVO, our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry pursuant to Art. 6 (1f) DSGVO or, if your enquiry is related to a contract or is required for pre-contractual measures, Art. 6 (1b) DSGVO.

2.3. Recipients
We do not pass on your data to our project partners or third parties.

2.4. Storage period
We store your data until you request us to delete it, you revoke your consent to processing it or the purpose for storing it no longer applies. Mandatory legal provisions (e.g. statutory retention obligations) remain unaffected.

2.5. Provision mandatory or required
The provision of your data is voluntary. Without this data, however, we cannot process your enquiry.

3. GENERAL OPERATION OF OUR WEB SERVICE
When you contact our web servers (for example, via app or browser), we automatically collect information of general nature. This information includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, your IP address and so forth.

3.1. Purpose of processing
We process the data in particular for the following purposes:
• Ensuring smooth use and maintenance of our platform.
• Ensuring network and information security. Information of this kind is statistically evaluated by us, if necessary, in order to optimize our platform and the technology behind it.

3.2. Legal basis
The processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1e) DSGVO in combination with Art. 6 (3) DSGVO, Art. 6 (1) BayDSG for the operation of our platform.

3.3. Recipients
THI will only foward your data on a legally permissible basis or with your consent. Beyond that, no data will be passed on.

3.4. Storage period
Your data will be deleted as soon as the purpose for processing is no longer applicable, but at the latest after 2 months.

3.5. Provision prescribed or required
The provision of your personal data is not required by law or contract. However, without this data, the functionality of our platform is not guaranteed. For this reason, an objection is excluded.

4. COOKIES
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our service more user-friendly, effective and secure. The cookies we use are technically necessary for the operation of our service. They are automatically deleted after the end of your visit or after one week at the latest.

5. RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT
According to the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights with regard to your personal data:
• If your personal data is processed, you have the right to receive information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 DSGVO).
• If incorrect personal data is processed, you have the right to have this data corrected (Art. 16 DSGVO).
• If the legal requirements are met, you may request the erasure or restriction of processing (Art. 17 and 18 DSGVO).
• If you have consented to the data processing or if there is a contract for data processing and the data processing is carried out with the help of automated procedures, you may have a right to data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO).
• Should you make use of your above-mentioned rights, the public body will check whether the legal requirements for this are met.
• Furthermore, there is a right to submit a complaint to a supervisory authority. The pertinent supervisory authority for the Bavarian public service is the Bavarian Data Protection Commissioner, Wagmüllerstraße 18, 80538 München.

Right to object
You may object to the processing of your personal data at any time due to reasons based on your personal circumstances (pursuant to article 21 of the GDPR).
If the legal requirements are met, we will then not further process your personal data.

Right of revocation
You may revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) DSGVO). The legality of the data processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation is not affected by this.
